The Roland CY-18DR is an 18-inch digital ride cymbal with multi-sensor triggering that connects to V-Drums modules through a single digital cable. Its full acoustic size and swing make it feel like a regular ride under the stick.
Three bow sensors, a bell sensor, an edge sensor and a touch sensor feed a built-in sensing processor. The bow detects stick position at high resolution, so the sound shifts smoothly from bow to bell. It supports legato ride patterns, soft bell strokes and edge crashes. Grab the edge to choke it, or touch the bow or bell with a finger or palm to mute it with natural decay.
The CY-18DR works with Roland modules that have a DIGITAL TRIGGER IN port, such as the V71, V51 and V31. It draws its 5 V power from that port. It is the ride in Roland's VAD516 and VAD716 kits. For a standalone setup, mount it on an MDY-series cymbal mount, sold separately.
