The Tama WHP2 is a two-pack of adhesive wood hoop protectors that shield your bass drum's wooden hoop from the clamp of a bass drum pedal. Each rubber pad sticks to the hoop where the pedal grips, stopping the metal clamp from scratching the wood and stopping the pedal from twisting or slipping mid-song.
The low-profile design is a deliberate choice from Tama: unlike thicker hoop guards, these pads sit thin enough to fit under most single and double bass drum pedal clamps without forcing you to over-tighten the toe clamp. That matters if your pedal has a shallow clamp opening, or if you regularly swap pedals between kits. The added rubber grip surface is especially useful on lacquered or oiled hoops, where a metal clamp will otherwise creep as you play.
Two pads per pack is enough to cover the top of a single bass drum hoop, or you can double up — one on top, one underneath — for full contact protection. A small, low-cost bit of hardware that quietly saves an expensive wood hoop from years of pedal wear.
