The Tama TIBS4 is a four-piece Iso-Base sound-reduction pad set designed to isolate a drum kit's contact points with the floor. It's aimed at drummers practising at home — particularly in apartments or shared houses where footstep noise transmitting through the floor into the room below is the real problem, more than the volume of the drums themselves.
The set contains one TIBP1 pedal pad (sized for a bass drum pedal or hi-hat stand base) and three TIBL1 leg pads (for cymbal stand feet, bass drum spurs or any tripod contact point with the floor). Each pad is moulded from rubber to strike a working balance between vibration absorption — muffling low-frequency thump through the floor — and playing stability, so the kit doesn't shift underneath you during heavier playing.
Compact and lightweight, so setup and pack-down between practice sessions is quick, and easy to move between rooms. A sensible pairing with a mesh-head practice kit, an e-drum kit, or an acoustic kit playing with brushes or hot rods. Positioned in the same category of solutions as Roland's NE-series noise-eaters, at a different price point.
