The Tama HP310L is the single-pedal version of Tama's Speed Cobra 310 series — a longboard bass drum pedal built on the same design principles as the professional Speed Cobra 910, at a mid-range price. It's aimed at drummers who want the feel of a longboard pedal without the flagship's price tag, and at players moving up from a Standard or Iron Cobra 200-series pedal.

The extended footboard is the same length as the flagship 910, so the beater accelerates through a longer stroke with less physical effort. A double chain drive (again borrowed from the 910) provides steady, low-flex power transfer, and the round LiteSprocket cam gives a smoother, lighter feel through the stroke than the offset Power Glide cam on Tama's Iron Cobra pedals. The Recessed Setting position — a patented feature of the Speed Cobra design — is claimed by Tama to reduce required foot effort by roughly 20 % compared to conventional pedal geometry.
