The Roland VH-14D is a 14-inch digital hi-hat that connects to Roland V-Drums modules through a single digital trigger cable. Two thin 14-inch pads, top and bottom, mount on a standard acoustic hi-hat stand, so your footwork and stick technique carry over directly.
A multi-element sensor system with three bow sensors, an edge sensor, a motion sensor and a touch sensor feeds a built-in sensing processor. It tracks velocity, stick position and the full range from open through half-open and closed to pressed. Foot splashes are reproduced authentically, and touching the cymbal with your hand mutes it as on an acoustic hi-hat.
The VH-14D works with modules that have a DIGITAL TRIGGER IN port, including the V71, V51 and V31. It also runs on the TD-27 from version 1.1 and on the TD-50X. Power comes over the connection cable at 5 V DC, so there is no separate power supply. A hi-hat stand is not included.
