The Roland TM-1 is a compact trigger module that adds electronic sounds to an acoustic drum kit through two trigger inputs and two built-in footswitches. Its floor-based stompbox design sits next to your pedals, and the metal casing is built for travel.
Out of the box you get 15 kits built from 30 preloaded sounds, with two instruments per kit. The free TM-1 Editor app for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android imports up to 30 of your own samples of about 6 seconds. Connect two single-trigger devices or one dual-trigger device. Roland RT-series triggers, the BT-1 bar pad, the KT-10 kick trigger pedal and V-Pads all work. SENS, PITCH, DECAY and LEVEL knobs give direct control over each input.
The TM-1 runs for about 3 hours on the included 9 V battery, on an optional PSA-series AC adaptor or from a computer via USB. Over USB it also works as a trigger-to-MIDI converter for drum plug-ins and DAW recording.
